Education at Free Spirits
on Norman Court Estate
We provide both child-led and adult-led learning opportunities as part of our ordinary childcare sessions. We supplement our day-to-day resources with carefully chosen play invitations and activities, with separate challenges for our older and younger children. Free Spirits also offers private tutoring delivered individually or in a very small group by a qualified, experienced (20 yrs) Primary School Teacher (and home ed mum) with substantial SEN experience and a nurturing disposition.
Our Curriculum Wheel
We adapt our provision regularly according to our theme of the month.
Older children are brought together for a short time each day for themed group learning, activities and challenges, whilst the younger children explore themed play invitations.
Private Tutoring
As well as providing both child-led and adult-led learning opportunities as part of our ordinary childcare sessions, Free Spirits also offers private tutoring delivered individually or in a very small group by a qualified, experienced (20 yrs) Primary School Teacher (and home ed mum) with substantial SEN experience and a nurturing disposition.
Your child will be taught a 30-minute formal lesson at an appropriate time in a separate room during the normal Childcare day (bookable separately). Parents are welcome to request or suggest particular skills or topics they would like covered (all subjects are available, including English, Maths, Science, French and PE).

Join the Free Spirits Family
Free Spirits is a warm and welcoming community of like-minded families, and once registered you will be invited to join the Families' WhatsApp group where you will receive daily updates and photos of the day's activities. There is also a separate FOFS (Friends of Free Spirits) group made up of parent volunteers, with plenty of opportunities to get involved.

We are run by a small team of experienced, qualified practitioners possessing DBS, Safeguarding & Child Protection, First Aid and Basic Food Hygiene certificates.
Free Spirits is subject to regular Ofsted checks and is on both the Early Years and Childcare Registers.
